Profile of the Montenegro national football team history FSCG Fudbalski Savez Crne Gore is the football association of Montenegro was founded on march 8, 1931 and represents governing body for football federation in Montenegro in a international competition and is controlled by FSCG. Became a member of UEFA Affiliation in 2007 and FIFA Affiliation in 2007.

This organisation operated under the governing of the Yugoslav Football Association, as one of ten football bodies supervising the game in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. In the 2006 FIFA World Cup. the newly independent states of Serbia and Montenegro competed as a united team and played their last group match on 21 June, failing to qualify for the following knockout stage.

In December 2005. They competed in Group 8, along with Italy, Bulgaria, Ireland, Cyprus and Georgia. They failed to qualify for the World Cup. The team's Euro 2012 qualifying campaign began in surprising fashion, with victories over Wales, Bulgaria and Switzerland, as well as a draw with England.

After the split of the Socialist Federal Republic, Montenegro became part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, before this federation was replaced by a union of Serbia and Montenegro. Montenegro's international debut in a 2-1 friendly win against Hungary on 24 March 2007.

Montenegro's home stadium is the Stadion Pod Goricom in Podgorica. The national team made their competitive tournament in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria in Podgorica on 6 September 2008, which was drawn 2-2. Their first competitive victory was a 2-1 home success against Georgia on 10 October 2009.
